“UNTIL THERE’S A CURE, THERE’S HOPE!”
How many of you have read on the internet, mostly on social networks,
comments that say things like:

“Maybe
there should be a cancer Barbie, so little girls with cancer don’t feel bad.”
·
“Disney
should make a princess with no hair, so little girls with cancer feel beautiful
too.”
Personally as I read through this comments and this posts, mostly on
pages like 9GAG, FACEBOOK, I always thought that this comments had a point and
I agreed with them. Every little girl is and should feel beautiful even if she
is sick, because they are, so I was amazed when, while browsing
through 9GAG, I saw the following picture:
My heart was truly touched. Mattel made the Hope Barbie happen, which in
my opinion, is a true motivation for little girls to keep their HOPES up, and
want to keep fighting against their terrible disease. I can’t imagine how the
families of cancer victims felt when they saw this, if I and a lot of other
people that don’t have direct contact with ill girls, felt really happy. Personally, I started showing and bragging the picture to my family and friends.
I think it is really important that big companies like Mattel are taking
action and want to help out the ones that need it the most, but I think we
shouldn’t forget that aside from little girls, there are lots of other people
affected from this disease too.
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is the hospital to which all the
funds are directed to, to find a cure for cancer. We must remember that by helping little girls we
are also helping all the cancer victims, because if someday we have the luck of
finding the cure, every victim will be benefited by it.
I would like to share you a video and I would really like you to watch
it and think about it. Think about this little girl and the enormous gesture
she made for her little brother. If a little girl that doesn’t know much about
the world has a heart big enough to make this gift to her brother, we also can
begin involving ourselves in this matter, not being important whether we have
sick families or not, because we don’t know if we will need help ourselves
someday.
