Dr. Seuss

"A person's a person, NO MATTER HOW SMALL!" -Dr. Seuss

In this blog post, I am going to talk about a man whose books I enjoy a lot: Theodor Seuss Geisel, also and better known as Dr. Seuss.

Dr. Seuss was born in Springfield, Massachusetts. He was a really famous writer, and cartoonist, but most importantly, he was world-wide recognized for the children's books he wrote. He had a unique technique on writing his books. His technique made his books really entertaining for little kids, but at the same time it left a great deal of knowledge on them.

I have been reading Dr. Seuss's books since I was a little kid, and I have always enjoyed them, but I have always interpreted them not only as a writing that leaves you with knowledge, but I have also thought that some of his books have some kind of self-motivation catch.

Although I was born around the time of Dr. Seuss’s death, these books were a part of my childhood; they were the literary works that I enjoyed a lot as a little kid, but the curious thing is that I read them now and I enjoy them as much as I did back then, or even more if it’s possible.

Dr. Seuss wrote 48 books, and a lot of his creations were and are still being adapted into films, like: "The Cat in the Hat", “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”, “Horton hears a Who”, and “The Lorax”.

I have read that a lot of people have thought that Dr. Seuss’s books are wrongful to kids because they seem to think that they have some kind of subliminal political messages in them. They consider it as a form of children brainwashing, but I think that actions speak for themselves, and if these books are still very well read today, and movie makers still make adaptations of his books, there is no reason to think they are harmful to kids.

My personal favorites and the books I want to recommend are:

“Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind!” -Dr. Seuss.

  4. Like julio I didn't know, who Dr.Seus was, until you posted the books.
I think he is a very good writer, because the movies I've seen like grinch and cat in a hat are very good movies, because they mix entertainment for child but with politic thoughts from the author.

  5. There are so many wonderful books for children out there, and I believe that we as adults could still learn a lot from the morals in them.....

  6. I totally agree with you Mr. Read, sometimes we need to look at life from another perspective and learn from it that way too, and what better way to do it as it you were a little kid again.
